Dream Work
“All human beings are also dream beings. Dreaming ties all mankind together”
– Jack Kerouac
Dreamwork goes straight to the heart of the matter, bypassing the protective layer of the conscious mind and revealing our soul’s deepest longings, how our fears may be limiting us and connecting us to our innermost feelings. This helps us gain clarity about ourselves and our lives. Studying dreams unlocks the creative imagination that we all possess. You do not have to be a great artist or a creative type to gain from this. There is no expectation to bring dreams to therapy, but it can be an avenue of exploration if it feels appropriate.
Working with dreams can:
- Offer practical guidance for your physical, psychological and spiritual well-being;
- Show how your thinking may limit you;
- invite you to face the fears that emerge in nightmares and anxiety dreams, and move through them;
- Give you perspective on unhelpful life patterns;
reveal hidden talents and gifts; - Enrich your waking life, opening your mind to greater meaning and beauty.
